THE DO'S AND DON'T THE NIGHT BEFORE YOUR WEDDING

By Rachel Cope

There are few things you can do and a few things you shouldn’t do the night before your magical day. The following do’s and don’ts are not gospel but they are a good starting point and simple to follow.

DO:

Eat a balanced healthy meal that includes a good source of protein, some complex carbohydrates, a selection of green leafy vegetables and small amount of healthy fats.

Have a relaxing bath or massage.

Remove all of your old makeup, cleanse, tone and moisturise your face. This will ensure a nice clean canvas for your makeup artist.

Moisturise your hands, feet, arms, legs and chest as well, especially if you have an off the shoulder dress. If you’ve had a spray tan, moisturiser will help it last longer and give you a fresh supple look.

Go to bed early and get a good nights rest, 8 hours sleep if possible.

Stay hydrated  - drink plenty of water, not only does it cleanse your skin, it flushes out toxins.

Surround yourself with positive, helpful, supportive people who will help to create a relaxing environment.

Try and arrange that you have no ‘to-do’s’ the night before your wedding.

Create a quite space for yourself that you can go to and just chill out and visualise your absolutely perfect wedding day.

DON’T:

Go out partying all night, who wants to have a hangover on there special day, especially after all the effort and expense you have gone to.

Drink alcohol as it dehydrates your skin and your body will thank you for not drinking alcohol.

Get a spray tan (this should have been done 4 days ago). What if you were to wake in the morning looking like an oompa loompa? How stressed would you be then?

Not eat, you need your energy and not eating will only make you feel more stressed and tired.

Eat too much sugar, it robs the oxygen from your skin and you need that to help your skin look plump and bright, not dry and withdrawn.

Make last minute wedding plans or arrangements. If it hasn’t been done by now, it doesn’t matter.

Drink to much caffeine, before bedtime, it will keep you awake.

Have a facial, this will bring out any unwanted blemishes and could cause redness.

Most of all don’t stress, your wedding day is going to be impeccable because you planned it that way!
